How it works
About and methodology
NewGrad Radar is a free archive of entry-level tech openings at US employers outside the largest tech companies: when employers open roles, which roles are still listed today, and what public records say about each employer.
Where the data comes from
Once a day we read each employer's own public job board, the same list anyone can open in a browser. We never log in, never read LinkedIn, Indeed or Glassdoor, and skip any site that asks us not to crawl it. Job boards we read:
- Workday: 1,679 boards
- Greenhouse: 1,053 boards
- Ashby: 772 boards
- Lever: 349 boards
- SmartRecruiters: 247 boards
- JazzHR: 170 boards
- Oracle Recruiting: 167 boards
- Rippling: 140 boards
- Workable: 68 boards
- BambooHR: 42 boards
- Jobvite: 23 boards
- SuccessFactors: 16 boards
- iCIMS: 8 boards
- Eightfold: 3 boards
- Company site: 3 boards
- ByteDance careers: 1 board
- TikTok careers: 1 board
- USAJOBS: 1 board
Government data:
- U.S. Department of Labor, OFLC LCA disclosure data: H-1B Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) per employer.
- USAJOBS Historic JOA API (data.usajobs.gov): past federal tech job announcements, used for the federal hiring calendar.
What the words mean
- Entry level
- Decided by rules on the title and description: new grad, university grad, junior, associate, level I, or a start year in the title; and no more than 1 year of required experience (a degree accepted instead of experience counts). PhD-only roles are left out. Federal roles use the grade (GS-5 to GS-9).
- Tech role
- Software, data, ML/AI, security and infrastructure roles a computer-science graduate would target; not sales, solutions or support engineering, and not other engineering fields.
- First seen
- The date of our first daily snapshot that listed the role. It never changes. For roles that were already listed when we started tracking an employer, the real opening date is earlier than our first sighting; the explorer marks those as open before tracking began.
- Verified fresh
- The role was listed in the employer's latest successful daily snapshot. Every role in the job explorer is verified fresh.
- Closed
- A role missing from two successful snapshots in a row is closed. A failed download never counts as missing. A closed role that comes back is reopened with its original first-seen date.
- Duplicates
- One opening posted more than once (the same requisition ID, title and location, or a repost of a role that was taken down) is shown once, under its earliest first-seen date. Roles with different requisition IDs are separate openings, even with the same title.
- Posted pay
- Only from the pay fields an employer fills in on its job board; we do not guess pay from description text.
- Staffing and consulting firms
- Employers whose H-1B filings mostly place workers at other companies' sites, IT outsourcing firms and consulting firms are left out of the job explorer and site-wide counts. Their company pages remain.
H-1B figures
Company pages show counts of certified LCAs per fiscal year, the mix of prevailing-wage levels and the median offered wage for computer occupations. Employers are matched to government records by legal name, and uncertain matches are decided by hand. These are counts and dates only.
H-1B figures are counts of Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) from U.S. Department of Labor disclosure data for the fiscal year shown. An LCA is a step before an H-1B petition; it is not a visa approval and does not show whether any role sponsors. This is not immigration or legal advice.
Limits
- Everything here is decided by rules, not by people reading each posting. Rules make mistakes: always read the original posting before applying.
- We cover the employers we track, not the whole market.
- History starts on our first snapshot, Sep 29, 2026; it cannot be filled in backwards.
